The 16th Annual National Korean Language Writing Contest
will be held on October 8th at Yonsei's outdoor amphitheater.
With the purposes of encouraging foreigners to learn the
Korean language as well as celebrating the 561st observation
of Korean Alphabet Proclamation Day, around 1,500 participants
are expected to participate.
This contest will be divided into two categories - poetry
and essay. Awards will be given to 25 winners. Among them,
the First-prize winner will receive 700,000 Won and certificate
and trophy by Ministry of Culture and Tourism. All participants
will be offered lunch and door prizes will be given to about
50 participants before the award ceremony.
Dr. Moon-Gyoo Choi, Director of ILRE mentioned "We
expect all participants to show their improving ability
through this contest." Those interested in this contest
