I would like to send a warm season’s greetings to you all KLI foreign students and instructors as well. I sincerely hope that you would enjoy healthy life in this year just like you did last year and I hope your days in the New Year would be full of happiness.

Many things are changing in KLI since last year. The primary target of this change is to do our best in serving students who came to our institute from distant countries.

As a first step for this, we KLI people already started to develop new text books. In conformity with the rapid change of age and culture, we consider the textbook should be improved as the Korean language is the foreign language for the foreign students. With regard to this, we once again appreciate our instructors who are participating in the work of new textbook development.

In the midst of internal change of textbook development, KLI is actively providing cultural events for the students in order for them to approach the Korean culture from time to time.

We are also pursuing external change as well in relation with the educational environment. We did remodeling inside and outside of our independent educational building of which we are very proud. Also we installed computers for internet search not only in the internet lounge but also in various places of the building, and most of all we opened wireless LAN.
Now, anyone can search the information at any corner in the building and can use notebook computers freely.

The biggest change is that when you take the courses of class 5 and 6 together with the separate cultural lecture which we provide you with no fee in KLI, Yonsei University will recognize it as credit 6. This illustrates that KLI is proudly recognized systematically by the Yonsei University.

Next year when the winter term begins, cooking practice room will be completed which is our long desired one. We expect it will devote to the Korean language and cultural education more effectively by giving an opportunity for the students to cook Korean foods by themselves.

When the internal and external change of education is faithfully but silently executed, our KLI will keep our position as a leading organization in the education of Korean language as a second language.

We, all the instructors of KLI including myself are committed to be indulged in the progress of Korean language education by doing our utmost best in this year.

Please be healthy and God bless you all in the New Year.

Thank you.
