The Special Summer Program is designed for students who want to take advantage of their summer vacation to learn the Korean language and culture. In the lower levels, emphasis is placed upon conversation, reinforced by writing. Further class hours are spent on practical conversation, listening, reading, composition, and cross-cultural communication. Korean classes are held 5 days a week (from 9:00 to 13:00) for 5 weeks (total 100 class hours).
In the afternoon, Students can experience Korean culture through a number of special activities (2 hours a day, 2 days a week). students can experience Korean culture through one of the many special activities.
There is an optional 3 day field trip that allows the students to visit historic sites. Through the field trip, students are able to see the ancient culture site, modern industrial facility and correctly understand Korean history.

Within 2 weeks after students register and pay the tuition, KLI will inform you of your acceptance status by e-mail. |

All KLI students will be placed into students’ appropriate class in accordance with his/her Korean ability.
Each class has more or less than 13 students. Each class will be divided by students’ gender and his/her Korean ability. |

Class attendance is mandatory and critical in language programs. Students are required to attend at least 85 hours of the total 100 class hours in order to receive credit from the program. Students who miss more than 15 hours will fail the program and consequently receive a grade. |
|
|
| |
Students in the program may receive university-level academic credits for successful completion of all work and requirements. Upon request, KLI will send an official transcript or certificate to the registrar’s office of the school designated by the student. The transfer of credits and the number of credits accepted are to be determined by the student’s university. |

All students need to get the C-3 Visa (or 90-day visa waiver passport) because the Summer Special Program is not allowed to give a student Visa.
KLI does not issue any certificate for a Visa. It's resposibility for student to get a Visa to take this program |

Only the tuition fee, dormitory fee and fieldtrip fee are refundable. In the case of all refunds, any associated postage fees and banking fees will be deducted from the refunded amount.

KLI has arranged a three day field trip in order to further educate students in Korean culture and history. The fieldtrip will leave a week before the Summer Special Program begins, departing at 9:00 a.m. June 22 (Tue) and returning to KLI by 6:00 p.m. on June 24 (Thu). Students attending the fieldtrip should arrive by 8:00 a.m. on June 22 (Tue) in order to attend the fieldtrip orientation in the auditorium (Rm#121) in KLI.

If students prefer dormitory housing, they should check the ‘dormitory option’ on the application form. Rooms are reserved on a first-come first-served basis, in order of receipt of the full application and dormitory fees. Dormitory fees should be paid in full along with other fees by May 20 (Thu). If there are no vacancies, dormitory fees will be refunded. Students should familiarize themselves with dormitory regulations through the KLI website or Orientation book.
- Every room is a double.
- The dormitory is located on the University Campus, on the hill by the North Gate.
(It takes 15 minutes by walk from the KLI; KLI provides shuttle bus service)

Meals are not included in the dormitory fees. There is a cafeteria in the basement of Dorm #2.
(The cafeteria opens on the weekend also except Saterday lunch. Meal price is around $2.5)

The dormitory is locked between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Curfew is strictly enforced.

Students who do not follow the regulations will be asked to leave the dormitory. Please note if this occurs,
dormitory fees will not be refunded. |
