The Special Summer Program is designed for students who want to take advantage of their summer vacation to learn the Korean language and culture. This program combines Korean studies with optional trips to historic Korean and cultural sites. There is an optional 3 day field trip that allows the students to visit historic sites. Through the field trip, students are able to see the ancient culture site, modern industrial facility and correctly understand Korean history. Students can experience Korean culture through a number of special activities (2 hours a day, 2 days a week). In the lower levels, emphasis is placed upon conversation, reinforced by writing. Further class hours are spent on practical conversation, listening, reading, composition, and cross-cultural communication. In the afternoon, students can experience Korean culture through one of the many special activities. Korean classes are held 5 days a week (from 9:00 to 13:00) for 5 weeks (total 100 class hours).
