Established in 1959, Yonsei University Korean Language Institute has made every effort to introduce Korean language and culture to foreign students and compatriots who come to learn Korean from around the world. As part of these efforts, in commemoration of HanGeul Day on October 9th each year, which celebrates King Sejong's spirit in creating Hangul and its excellence, the Foreigner HanGeul Contest has been held to promote awareness of Korean language learners about the excellence of Hangul.
Since its inception in October 1992, the Foreigner HanGeul Contest has attracted participation from over 100 countries and more than 40,000 foreign students and overseas Koreans. The contest serves as a platform for Korean language learners from various countries around the world to showcase their Korean language skills, fostering understanding, respect, communication, and exchange among different cultures. We invite your interest and participation in the 32nd Foreigner HanGeul Contest in 2026.

한국에 살고 있는 해외교포로서 체류 기간이 5년 이내인 자
나. 만 17세 이상인 자
다. 최근 3년 이내에 한국어 문예 작품으로 수상한 경력이 없는 자

가. 신청 기간 : 2024년 9월 13일(금) ~ 9월 29일(일)
