About the Program
- Each term, the program gave trainees the chance to experience real classrooms by observing KLI classes and teaching practice lessons to Korean language learners.
- This specialized practicum of the Yonsei University Korean Language Teacher Training Center was designed so that trainees do not approach teaching methods only in theory, but apply them in real Korean classes and receive expert feedback, giving practical help to Korean language teachers.
- The program was a 5-week course with 120 hours in total, offered twice a year. Depending on the curriculum, classes were taught by full-time KLI professors, external professors in related fields and Korean language education specialists.
- Combined and small-group lectures were held depending on the course. Systematic training in Korean teaching methods that combines theory and practice, along with broad education in Korean studies, aimed to improve the quality of Korean language education and support teaching for overseas Koreans. Special lectures to prepare for the Korean Language Teaching Proficiency Test were also provided.
- Assessment was based on a comprehensive exam (a written test on theory and practice, and a demonstration lesson) and attendance.
